For Supporters & Survivors

Survivors are affected throughout their lives by sexual abuse in childhood. The abuse affects every facet and area of their lives - physical, emotional, mental and spiritual well-being. The effects of sexual abuse do not stop with the survivor. Their relationships with others, family, friends and their ability to parent effectively are impacted by the abuse. As well, there are enormous consequences for society as a whole. We spend untold human and financial resources in justice systems, social services, social welfare, and medical and mental health services without addressing the root cause itself. Tamara's House offers a holistic approach based on self-directed healing which empowers the woman to use her voice and take charge of her own healing and overall well-being.
